Barre Series: 100-Hour Foundation Barre Teacher Training – London Academy

Welcome to the Barre Series Foundation Barre Teacher Training, held at 16 Balderton Street, Mayfair, London (W1K 6TN).

This REPs-accredited, founder-led 100-hour certification is designed for those who want to deepen their understanding of barre, movement and teaching — and, if they choose, to teach it themselves. Whether you have dreamed of teaching barre, hope to build your own barre career and community, or simply want to go deeper into your own practice, this programme offers a comprehensive and considered foundation.

Where many barre trainings are completed in a single weekend, ours is a genuine 102-hour education — designed not to rush you to a certificate, but to shape you into a confident, capable teacher with a voice of your own.

Delivered primarily in person, the course blends movement science, Pilates-informed barre technique, anatomy, cueing and class design — supporting you to develop confidence, clarity and a strong personal teaching approach.

Founder-Led & REPs-Accredited

Led by Catie Miller, founder of Barre Series, this training is rooted in the method she has developed through years of teaching, programme development and instructor education.

As a REPs-accredited programme, graduates are eligible for professional recognition and insurance — while also gaining a deeper understanding of how to apply barre principles safely, intelligently and sustainably, whether teaching others or refining their own practice.

What Our Graduates Say

★★★★★

"I am so pleased I attended the Barre Series Academy. Having the opportunity for in-person training and access to Catie's depth of knowledge was truly invaluable. She is incredibly generous in sharing her experience, practical advice and even her carefully curated playlists.

Catie's teaching was both inspiring and supportive, and her encouragement helped me grow in confidence throughout the training. I was particularly drawn to the pre- and postnatal modifications, which are an extremely valuable skill I will now be able to apply in my own classes.

My Barre Series journey is only just beginning, but I can feel confident knowing I have learned from the best."

— Tamara, Barre Series Academy Graduate

★★★★★

"I could not recommend this training enough. Catie embodies the barre method and shares her knowledge with incredible enthusiasm. You will leave equipped with the skills and motivation to deliver high quality, safe, energetic classes to your clients."

— Leanne, Barre Series Academy Trainee

Daily Schedule

9:00am – 5:00pm, across the three in-person days.

Certification Structure (100+ Hours)

The in-person intensive is where your training begins — not where it ends. Certification as a Barre Series teacher is earned across 102 hours, so that you graduate genuinely ready to teach, rather than simply certified on paper.

  • 24 hours — live workshop, in person (3 days × 8 hours)
  • 24 hours — theory (online / self-study)
  • 24 hours — logged teaching practice
  • 30 hours — logged self-practice
  • Total: 102 hours

After the in-person days, you will study for and complete your theory and practical assessments, log real teaching hours with live bodies, and spend time deepening the method in your own body — because the finest teachers understand movement from the inside out.

You will have up to six months from the start of the course to complete all components, though many participants choose to complete them sooner. Upon completion, you will receive your Barre Series / REPs Certification, enabling you to teach barre with appropriate professional insurance, if you choose to do so.

What You'll Explore

Practical Application

Throughout the training, participants are supported to:

  • plan and structure movement sessions
  • build confidence in verbal and visual cueing
  • meet every body with skill — progressing capable, advanced practitioners and adapting for different needs and life stages
  • create inclusive, welcoming experiences
  • develop their own approach to teaching and sharing barre

The emphasis is on understanding the principles behind the practice, so they can be applied flexibly and creatively in different contexts.
